Annie’s Story
My name is Annie Bennett. For years I struggled with my weight, being overweight or obese most of my life. I never actually realized the risks I was putting myself in until I was 25. I visited the doctor due to nausea and was told I needed to have my gallbladder removed.
I began to look at my family history. My mother, who had been obese as well for many years now, not only had gallbladder removal surgery several years back but since that time, had several other surgeries ultimately brought on by her weight and had recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. My grandmother was also suffering from diabetes.
I realized I needed to make some changes and fast. I had tried every fad diet and diet pill out there and nothing ever worked. I decided to devote the next several months studying the latest research on food and its effect on our bodies. At times, I was literally devastated by the information I was finding, knowing what I had been doing to my body the last several years. Based on the information I researched I came up with a weight loss plan I felt confident would work for me. My approach incorporated many low glycemic foods while maintaining a healthy balance of nutrients, limiting sugar and processed foods and most importantly, eating delicious meals! Then my life started to change.
After my first week, I lost 7 pounds. Within the first month, I was down 23 pounds and was feeling great. I had never thought about what my goal weight should be as I was more interested in getting healthy however, the sizes just kept getting smaller. I lost 70 pounds total and was down to a size 6, where I have stayed the last 4 years. After my success I was eager to share this information with others. Many of my friends and family started the program I developed with amazing results. One result in particular however, also changed my life.
I convinced my mom to try my program. She was skeptical at first as she had also tried every weight loss plan, pill and “cure” out there; never getting the results she was looking for. She quickly found out this plan was different. She lost 10 pounds in her first week and after her first month she was down 30. After about 40 days, she was off her diabetes medication with her blood sugar levels regulated through healthy eating. After 3 months, she had blood work done and received a “non-diabetic” diagnosis. It felt like a miracle.
I remember getting calls about success stories and thinking “If only we could reach out to others”. The obesity epidemic we are facing has no end in sight. I knew people, like myself, needed great food, education, support, encouragement and just a little direction. That is why I developed FreedomFit. FreedomFit was created for today’s lifestyles. Mothers on the go, working women and men, stay at home parents and singles. I knew my program needed to work for everyone.
When I read statistics on obesity and weight gain in America, I want to reach out to those individuals and tell them there is hope.
I decided to open a company called FreedomFit.
Sincerely,
Annie Bennett
